ADER HAS PUBLISHED TWO STUDIES ON OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY IN COMPANIES IN LA RIOJA IN WHICH 34 INNOVATIVE TECHNOLOGIES PROVIDED BY RIOJAN COMPANIES ARE PRESENTED

The Economic Development Agency already has the results of a study carried out jointly by ADER, IRSAL and the Mutua Universal within the Globaltech Rioja Project on the application of technological innovation in the sphere of occupational health and safety and more generally in the area of personal safety and the protection of life with which we are all involved.

The publications, under the common denominator of “OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY IN COMPANIES IN LA RIOJA” are entitled “Study of the current situation, diagnosis and proposed actions” and “Catalogue of Riojan Manufacturers of Products and Service Providers”.

This study presents an image of progress in La Rioja and shows the competitive advantages of the region through the description and identification of safe and innovative services and technologies, for Riojan society as a whole and for the businesses and official bodies in other regions and countries.

The main aims which have marked the study have been:

  • To be a point of reference, particularly for SMEs, with regard to examining the causes of accidents at work and to use these as a way of finding the best solutions from both the technological point of view, and the improvement of working conditions
  • To offer solutions to those problems in the nearby area by identifying Riojan manufacturers or providers of services and safe technology that can tackle the companies’ needs in the field of occupational health and safety
  • To bring new market openings and research opportunities to Riojan firms for developing new solutions and uses to offer to the sphere of occupational safety.
  • To foster the national and international growth of Riojan technologies, by providing a tool for promoting technology from La Rioja that will serve to disseminate the region’s innovative character.
  • To encourage technology transfer between Riojan companies and between these and those from outside the region

The work was conducted in five stages whose results have been reflected in the two publications:

Stage 1. Analysis of the occurrence and causes of industrial accidents and professional diseases

Stage 2. Adaptation of Riojan companies in matters of risk prevention and assessment

Stage 3. Field study of the companies’ needs in matters of occupational health and safety

Stage 4. Identification of service and safe technology providers in the sphere of occupational health and safety

Stage 5. Conclusions and proposals for action
